Content Authoring (2015 - present)

Korn Ferry is building a suite of fast and flexible cloud-based tools for their customers, and for internal use by employees. My role is to build a content editor for use by business people to make it easy to standardize content for assessments and reports and make content reusable.

I am doing mostly front-end development in React.js against a Mark Logic REST API. The team is small (6) with a very fast pace and rapidly changing requirements. Everyone on the team does devops work in addition to development.

Automated Work Area Design (2014)

The AWAD system provides a web application platform used by operations planners. AWAD automates the package delivery assignment process and optimizes vehicle packing.

I am one of 5 developers completely rewriting the GUI and making dramatic performance improvements. Scheduled for production use beginning in March, 2015.

Customer Pickup Coordination (2009)

My team developed a Spring application to integrate zip code data into many pickup-oriented applications. The app has been in production across North America since 2009.

PNC Bank

PINACLE Corporate Online Banking (2013)

This is PNC's flagship treasury management application for their corporate banking customers. It integrates a suite of more than 40 internal financial applications into a single online portal.

My team implemented a stand-alone identity provider (IDP) and created a new authentication API. These innovations reduce internal coupling and increase the overall application up-time.

BodyMedia

Now part of Jawbone, BodyMedia offers wearable devices to continuously monitor the body to help with general health and weight loss.

Writable Data API (2012)

In this project my team added an upload channel to allow selected partners to write data through BodyMedia's existing developer API.

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center

IHE Integration (2012)

Partnering with Heritage Valley Health System, UPMC delivered the first leg of a planned network of electronic healthcare exchange with their many partners.

Statewide Immunization Information System (2009)

This project connected UPMC's internal business processes with the Pennsylvania Statewide Immunization System. (PA-SIIS) This integrates patient immunization data to speed up processing and increase accuracy.

Performance Optimization (2012)

I helped AEO perform in-depth performance analysis of production systems and made recommendations for configuration improvements and optimizations.

Tarkett

Tarkett is a global manufacturer of flooring materials.

Mobile Salesforce Integration (2012)

In this project my team developed an iPad app to integrate with Tarkett's Salesforce.com document database.

SAP Integration (2011)

Tarkett consolidated their enterprise systems onto the SAP platform. I wrote some software to help with the transition process.

CIGNA

MailRx Mail-order Pharmacy (2011)

My team helped CIGNA take on ownership of a large, previously outsourced code base. We made numerous enhancements to improve maintainability, increase performance, and improve development processes.

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield

Reports@Hand (2011)

The software enables healthcare providers to customize their reporting tools through Highmark's Reports@Hand web interface.

Medicare Advantage Pre-Enrollment (2007)

This multi-faceted project revolutionized the enrollment process for Medicare Advantage plans at Highmark. Still in use today, Highmark employees use this web application to enroll new beneficiaries, or beneficiaries can self-enroll. I was the chief architect and overall technical leader for this two-year project.
